Families We Serve

Families come to our Pelham office from all over Alabama and beyond. We offer the consultation and procedure in one visit to make out-of-area trips easier, and families traveling a long distance can do the one-week follow-up by email with photos.

Why families travel to see us

Families travel to our Pelham office from across Alabama, from other states, and from other countries. Dr. Baxter wrote the book Tongue-Tied, and he trains other doctors and providers through Tongue-Tied Academy. He and Dr. Trego are both pediatric dentists who focus on tongue and lip ties.

If you’re weighing a long drive, it’s not as unusual as it may seem. Tongue and lip ties are a specialized area, and we’ve set up the visit for families coming from a distance: the consult, exam, and treatment (if it’s needed) happen in one visit, and the one-week follow-up can be done by email with photos.

Maybe you’ve already been told there’s nothing there, or that the tie is mild. A tie can still have a real effect on feeding, speech, sleep, or other symptoms, and it’s easy to miss, because a tie is judged by how the tongue and lip function, not just how they look. If you’d like our opinion before you plan the trip, send us a free pre-screen.
